OH DEAR
Someone has noticed you've used generative AI for your music, artwork or marketing, and wants you to know that it ain't hitting.
Whoops!
Yeah, this might be a bit forward. Maybe you think you're in the clear. Maybe you think whoever sent you here is a bit of a bastard. However, when you consider the significant and largely irreversible damage generative AI is doing to:
musicians
artists
graphic designers
photographers
animators
your favourite creators
politics
mental health
your children's understanding of the world
your parents understanding of the world
your grandparents understanding of the world
indigenous/first nations/aboriginal expression
sources of fresh water
air quality
worldwide climate
... then perhaps being called out for using this ridiculously destructive "tool" isn't the worst thing in the world.

So now, you might be thinking;
"Oh no, I've been a bloody fool! There is nothing I can do!"
- You, right now

THAT IS WHERE YOU'RE WRONG
Look at all these options available to you!
Need a musician?
Why would you make Suno generate some heartless rendition of some shit lyrics chatGPT spewed onto your screen, when you could have an actual human person write and feature on your song? Go ask a musician; most of them are always happy to work with other musicians. Don't know where to find them? Well that is a problem, and also DNR can help you with that. DNR knows A LOT of musicians, and all of them LOVE music and just want to make stuff, even for $free.99
Need some music?
Ben, the director of DNR, pictured above pretending to be you, has been studying, listening to and promoting local Tasmanian music non-stop for well over five years... and that's not accounting for all of the industry experiences they've had in the ten years before that. DNR is well placed to point you toward any song made by a real person in Tasmania for any vibe you could possibly imagine. Also, DNR is a radio program; Ben is a bonafide playlist curation extraordinaire, and can make a bloody banger playlist for your cafe, restaurant, gift shop, fun run, queer night, gallery opening, wedding, whatever. Ben's got you.
Need artwork?
Fun fact: a four-year-old child's drawing of a fish is more interesting than any 1992 Toyota Corolla In Elaborate Cyberpunk City Nightscape With Two Ferrets And A Banana that AI could produce. Seriously, you could throw a fart in a wind tunnel and hit an artist. They're everywhere. They're not mysterious. They want their work out there. They want to make some money too. And they bloody-well deserve it. Did you know Ben from DNR (previously mentioned) is a Bachelor of Fine Art and the secretary of a local art gallery? They know art, they know artists, they know how to get you what you need, and they know how to work with your budget, even if your budget is zilch dollars and nada cents.
Need a designer?
This is SO easy. Not only is it so simple to find customisable templates on free programs like Canva, you could do so much with a pen, paper and a photocopier. Hand-drawn posters are awesome, collage is easy as hell to do, scrawling your shit handwriting on a page is just human... in an age where genAI is everywhere, doing something handmade will stand out so much against the wash of digital bullshit. Even if you want to go digital, again, Canva is easy as hell and so is just screen-shotting your notes app. Get creative, for god's sake. Ben from DNR is also a qualified graphic designer and swears this isn't advertising, and that they're just trying to point out that they're not typing out of their arse.
Need an animator?
There is a wonderful tactic here that won't absolutely bungle your text and morph your logo into a dog's breakfast - commissioning artists from Twitch, vGen and Fiverr! There's so many people willing to do cool stuff for you, for not a lot of money. Seriously, Ben yells at Twitch streamers all the time for not charging enough, and they won't raise their prices... this is something you should perhaps take advantage of.
So, what now?
If you need help with any of that, then get in touch and Ben will help you iron out those AI sins and get you some real, human creativity.
